Bodybuilding Peak Week: Water & Sodium Manipulation

As coaches ourselves a frequent question our first-time competitors often ask us is “will we be out cutting water?” and the answer is a big N.O.

Everyone’s goal on show day should ultimately involve feeling GOOD, and cutting water is a fast-tracked way to:

▪️Feel flat with a headache
▪️Struggle to get a pump and look vascular
▪️Have low energy and dull stage performance
▪️Get cramps on stage
▪️Feel dizzy and disoriented
▪️Have poor digestion
▪️Feel constipated
▪️Feel THIRSTY!

Cutting water is one of the best ways to guarantee a worse show day experience for your physique, performance, and overall package.

Our best advice? Responsibly plan ahead and execute your prep within a reasonable timeframe to achieve the conditioning required prior to show day. Doing so will ensure that you don’t
feel pressured to resort to last-minute protocols such as water manipulation in an attempt to have a “tighter” physique.

Bodybuilding is a long-term sport, and your physique on show day should reflect your compound efforts during a 20+ week prep - not 20+ hours of dangerous dehydration protocols.
